On April 1, 2025, I pulled papers to run for re-election as your Ward 4 City Councilor. I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish as a city, but there is still more to do. I am excited to work together with residents from Ward 4 and across the city to continue to bring thoughtful, inclusive, and sound representation to my role as City Councilor. I look forward to running for re-election and I ask for your support.

Responsive and timely constituent assistance to Ward 4 constituents is and will remain a top priority for me.  Ward 4 constituents deserve nothing less than this, and I will work hard to deliver on this commitment.

I will also continue active oversight of the city’s financial management practices and push for greater transparency from the administration.  This applies particularly to the City’s large capital investments, building upgrades, and long-term projects.  These are subjects where residents need more information in order to have their voices heard and their concerns met.

I am proud of the Council’s policy achievements this term. Most recently, the Council approved an Order I filed to move us toward more use of clean energy for new construction in the city. Clean energy transition is a high priority for me, as is addressing the competing goal of making housing more affordable. And in the coming term, the city faces the prospect of the loss of state and federal revenues.  This will impact our ability to deliver high quality services to city residents. I am ready to hear your thoughts and work hard to help solve the challenges we will face in the coming term.

Finally, in this time of big changes and uncertainty, I will always work to pull people together and make sure Beverly is and remains a safe and welcoming community for all our residents.

Sincerely,

Scott Houseman

Ward 4 Councilor

City of Beverly
