Scott Houseman has served as the City of Beverly Ward 4 Councilor since 2011. A lawyer by training, Scott has worked at the intersection of law, public policy, land use and sustainability for over 30 years. He has authored and advocated for City policy and ordinances to oversee City finances and practices, and to protect open space and the arts. He rallied public and private leaders to save the historic Cabot Theater and served his constituents on a wide range of concerns — from street paving and snow removal to affordable housing and historic preservation.

Scott’s knowledge of the City is informed by 16 years of service on the City’s Zoning Board of Appeals, ten as chair (1998-2008). He developed expert knowledge of land use issues and urban planning policies. Above all, he built a record of diligent, fair and thoughtful collaboration with residents and business owners.

Scott moved to Beverly in 1988. He is married to Debra DelVecchio and has two adult children, Haley and Luke.
